Longest historical gaps

Different from overdue: this is the biggest gap each number has ever gone through across 2,757 draws.

The big number in each ring is a number’s all-time record gap. The ring fills as its current drought closes in on that record. A full ring means it’s breaking new ground.

Frequency converging to chance

Every ball has a theoretical 11.11% chance of being drawn each time (5 of 45). Pick any number below to see how its observed frequency settles toward that line across 2,757 draws.

The top 2 are the most-drawn numbers in our archive; the bottom 2 are the least-drawn. Over enough draws, all four end up within a fraction of a percent of 11.11%.

That’s why hot/cold streaks don’t predict.

About France Lotto

France Lotto is the main lottery game run by FDJ (La Française des Jeux), the state-licensed lottery operator in France. It launched in 1976 and its current 5/49 + 1 Chance format began in 2008.

The jackpot rolls over until someone wins. That has produced some of the largest lottery prizes in Europe.

Why France Lotto jackpots get so big

When no ticket matches all 5 main numbers and the Chance number, the top prize rolls to the next draw. Jackpots have climbed into the tens of millions of euros after long rollover runs.

The minimum guaranteed jackpot is €2 million. Even a freshly reset jackpot climbs fast. France Lotto is known for growing from minimum to multiple millions in weeks.

How we keep these results accurate

Every result on this page is pulled directly from the FDJ public results feed within minutes of the draw and cross-checked against FDJ’s official prize breakdown before publication.

Our archive covers every France Lotto draw since 2009. That is the current format’s complete history of winning combinations, prize tiers, and jackpot data.

Common Questions

Frequently asked

Straight answers to the questions our visitors ask most often, with a South African lens.

What is France Lotto and how does it work?

France Lotto (Loto) is the official French lottery run by FDJ, La Française des Jeux, going since 1976. Each draw pulls 5 main numbers from 1 to 49 and 1 Chance number from 1 to 10.

In France, people buy a ticket and try to match the balls, with the jackpot needing all 5 main numbers plus the Chance. From South Africa it works differently. You don't buy a ticket or chase the jackpot.

You place a fixed-odds bet through a licensed operator like YesPlay on whether numbers come up. Back a single number, a pair or a trio, and if your numbers are drawn you are paid at set odds, more for a pair than a single and more again for a trio.

When are France Lotto draws and what time is that in South Africa?

Draws happen three times a week: Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 20:20 Paris time.

In South African time that's about 8:20pm SAST in summer and 9:20pm SAST in winter — SA keeps one clock all year, while France shifts for daylight saving. Results appear on this site within minutes of each draw.

The draw window shifts with French daylight saving, so check the countdown timer for precise timings.

Can South Africans legally play France Lotto?

You cannot open a direct account with FDJ from South Africa because FDJ requires French domicile and is geo-blocked from SA.

South African players bet on France Lotto through licensed local fixed-odds operators like YesPlay. This site publishes results for tracking only; we do not sell tickets.

YesPlay is the SA-licensed sportsbook we recommend for France Lotto betting.

Where can I see the official France Lotto results?

The official source is FDJ at fdj.fr/jeux-de-tirage/loto/resultats. The FDJ website may be blocked in South Africa.

This site publishes every result within minutes of the official draw time. We cross-check against FDJ's published results before posting.

What are the France Lotto prize tiers and odds of winning?

There are 9 prize tiers. The jackpot (matching all 5 main and the Chance) has odds of 1 in 19,068,840 and a minimum of €2 million.

Matching 5 main numbers without the Chance has odds of 1 in 2,118,760. The easiest prize is matching just the Chance number (1 in 10), which returns your stake.

The jackpot rolls over by approximately €1 million per draw until someone wins.

How big can France Lotto jackpots get?

France Lotto jackpots start at a minimum of €2 million and roll over until won. After long rollover runs, jackpots have climbed into the tens of millions of euros.

There is no published rollover cap. Recent rollover runs have reached into the €12–13 million range.

Special draws such as Friday the 13th (Vendredi 13) occasionally offer larger one-night jackpots.
